Volvo

Volvo urgently needed to renovate their factory flooring, but with production running at full steam, closing down part of the assembly line during normal working hours was out of the question. Together with EU PLAST AB the management drew up a schedule to renovate all the floors while the factory was closed for the annual industrial holidays. Volvo´s requirements for a floor that was both attractive to look at and required no maintenance led us to choose Peran STB Compact industrial surfacing in a light colour. Peran STB Compact combines extremely high wear resistance with a long life. Finally, to meet the client´s demands for an easily cleaned floor, the surfacing was top-coated with a high-gloss epoxy lacquer. First, of course, all the old floors had to be shot-blasted to clean off years of oil and grime, while cracks and joints were opened up and filled with a flexible epoxy compound. The concrete was then primed with low-viscosity epoxy to ensure good adhesion before the flooring was laid. When work recommenced at Volvo after the summer shut-down it was on 8000 square metres of brand new flooring.
"There were no problems at all in cooperating with EU PLAST AB. Despite an extremely tight schedule, they were very professional in the way they tackled the contracting work. Today we have a bright and attractive working environment which costs us very little to maintain."
